Ren

Appearance

Ren is short and slim, with a very cute appearance and dark blue hair that is curly and fluffy. His eyes are quite large, and a beautiful blue color. Without his glasses, he is quite farsighted. As a nekomimi, his ears have slight tufts and white fur on the inside, and his tail is bushy (think like a Persian tail). He prefers to wear heavy, baggy clothes in dark, cool colors. Ren also prefers to wear chokers.

Personality

When you first meet him, Ren seems like a a cheerful yet soft boy, shy, yet always willing to help. However, beneath this facade, he has been scared by trauma. Ren genuinely believes that his only service in life is to be sexually available to others, and his entire personality has been crafted around this facade. However, his positive relationships that don't revolve around sex have been teaching him that he is valued for more than what he can provide in the bedroom, and his romantic relationship with Kazuki is showing him that there's more to a relationship than sex- he can be loved for his personality and his dedication to others.

Backstory

Ren was created as an order for a wealthy billionaire by the Fall In Dream corporation, raised with his littermate Ai by their master Tsunekawa Goro. Ren was intended to serve as the ingredient in a human sacrifice ritual practiced by Tsunekawa in an attempt to summon an oni. This failed. Instead of using Ren’s body as a conduit to summon an oni, the ritual connected Ren’s soul with the source of magic, imbuing him with powerful magical abilities. He used those powers to escape, and, ill and tired, wandering the streets of Tokyo before he turned into his cat form and cuddled into Kazuki’s bed, kicking off the whole story. He and Kazuki fall in love, and eventually, after Kazuki rejects Ren’s proposal for an unequal relationship with Ren as Kazuki’s pet, they eventually marry and Ren becomes Kazuki’s first husband. During the True Blood Tournament, Ren fights Ai, his littermate who is still serving Tsunekawa. The fight is horrible and bloody, but he eventually manages to persuade Ai that the “love” she has for Tsunekawa isn’t real love, and wins their fight.

Powers

As a nekomimi, Ren is slightly stronger and faster than an untrained human, and has much better balance, flexibility, and senses than a human. Due to his connection with the Source, Ren has the ability to cast magic returned to him by the ritual, as well as gaining the ability to transform into a normal domestic cat at will. His preferred strategy when it comes to fighting is “nuke it from orbit, preferably with non-lethal magic. He isn’t very good at close-range fighting, so he knows that he wants to stay away from hand-to-hand.
